High School Memories
Buzznet asked me some questions about highschool! See what I had to say! And make sure you check out the gallery to see picutres of me and my friends when I was in high school.
Was the first day of High School as scary for you as “they” make it seem?
Well I went to a private school that was K-12 with a graduating class of 15! So I guess my first day of high school was scary, but not for the same reasons as other people. I was still with the same people in the same exact school, but I was still scared because I had NO IDEA what to expect in high school!
Did you have a favorite class? Least Favorite?
Hmm a favorite class...that is a tough one! Probably my writing classes. I’ve always loved to write so I never minded when it was time for those classes.
My least favorite without a doubt was Science!! I HATED science with a passion! Which is funny because the last year or so of college I’ve taken some science classes and loved them!
Any special memories from school Dances/ Prom/ Homecoming etc? Did you attend them?
Listen to this sad story...I never had my own prom!! In the school that I was in, the prom is for Juniors and Seniors only, and I was homeschooled my last two years of high school because that was the time I was going to shows all over with the Jonas Brothers. So I NEVER got to experience my own prom. I did get to go to prom with a friend of mine...which was so much fun! In classic Mandy fashion....I was dancing the entire night :)
What is the best advice you can give about these kids starting freshman year of High School this fall?
Best advice for kids entering their freshman year... BE YOURSELF! Every single person is different! Don’t let other people’s judgements and comments of you change who you are. It’s ok to be different! Most of the time if people have something to say, it’s because they are jealous or just insecure.
One thing you wish you knew then that you know now?
One thing that I wish I knew then that I know now is that there is SOO much more to life than high school. I was always so concerned with what people thought of me. I was always trying to find some way to fit in, where now I’m fine with being my own person. I think expressing your individuality is such an important thing and can be so inspiring for many people. Who cares what everyone thinks of you! If they don’t like you...then that is there loss
